V Shankar Narayanan is a well-known Carnatic music vocalist in the performing circuits in India and other countries. Madhuradhwani was born out of his passion for classical music, and a yearning to spread the art form transgressing all boundaries. Being the curator of the festival, he manages the entire programming every year.
An A-grade artist with All India Radio, he has been a recipient of the national talent scholarship for 13 consecutive years from Govt of India, and is featured in almost all important Indian and International music confluences throughout the year, and has several awards, merits and reviews to his credit.
Besides being a busy musician performing all around through the year, Shankar is a banker, holding a core portfolio in one of the leading international banks.
Festival Execution, Branding & Publicity
Vanitha Shankar is a start-up operations consultant based in Chennai, and provides end-to-end consulting services for fresh business ventures. She brings in 15 years of corporate work experience into the festival team, and is instrumental in the overall execution and publicity of the festival. She is instrumental in the overall event rollout, and is now looking at positioning Madhuradhwani as an important festival in Singapore that classical music lovers from all around the region can look forward to.
Other than arts related event management, her interests include research based writing, out-door running and horse riding.
She is the author of a coffee table book “The Heritage of Hindu Temples in Singapore” that was published in association with National Heritage Board.
Executive committee member
Bala Shankar is an avid enthusiast of Carnatic Music with more than four decades of listening experience and has learnt briefly as well. He contributes to many publications as a music critic and commentator.
He is one of the core people in the team, and provides guidance and support in planning the festival. He is also involved in organzing thematic concerts with many Carnatic musicians based in Singapore.
Bala has a management background and is an educational entrepreneur.
